(PCM) It was recently announced that JJ Abrams company Bad Robot will be producing an all new Stephen King series which will air on Hulu. The show will be titled Castle Rock. For many fans of Stephen King this should excite you.
The best-selling author’s work often refers to Castle Rock which is a name taken from a fictional town in Maine. The first time the town is mentioned is in the 1979 novel “The Dead Zone.” Other works of King’s that have mentioned Castle Rock are as follows: Cujo, The Dark Half and “Needful Things” were set in Castle Rock, whearas “Creepshow”, “The Stand”, “Sleepwalkers”, “Gerald’s Game” and even “It” reference the town.
Last year Hulu did an excellent job with 11/22/63 starring James Franco who goes back in time to try and stop the Kennedy assignation. The anthology will weave together characters and themes from the King stories set in that town. Each season will follow a different set of characters and story lines while interjecting themes and specific characters from previous seasons.
The show will be written and produced by Sam Shaw (Manhattan, Masters of Sex) Dusty Thomason is also attached to what should be a breakout hit of a project.
